1.感叹句

Tips: 当用名词感叹时，用What引导;当用形容词或副词感叹时，用How

示例1：What a day!

示例2：What a mess!

示例3：How beautiful she is!

示例4：How fast she ran!

2.it的几个特别用法

1)表示时间：It’s 1 o’clock. // It was Sunday.

2)表示天气：It’s raining again. // It was dark outside.

3)替代在看不清或看不见对方时的人称代词：Who is it?==>It’s me. // It’s my aunt Lucy.

3.引号内外标点符号的问题

引号里的话语在语法术语里称作“直接引语”，引号外面会说明是谁讲的。

示例1：She said, ‘I’ve just arrived by train.’ 或者：‘I’ve just arrived by train,’ she said.

示例2：‘But I’m still having breakfast,’ I said.

示例3：She asked, ‘What are you doing?’

示例4：‘I’m having breakfast,’ I repeated.

注意讲话人放前及放后时的标点符号问题。

示例5：‘I’ve just arrived by train,’ she said, ‘I’m coming to see you.’

示例6：‘Dear me,’ she said, ‘Do you always get up so late? It’s one o’clock!’

再注意将讲话内容分隔开来的情况下标点符号问题。

Buying Paintings(绘画)

Mr. Robinson won a lot of money on the football pools(足球场), but he did not know what would be the best thing to do with it, so he went to a friend who knew a lot about money matters(事物). This friend said to him:"Go and buy some modern paintings. Their value(价值) goes up(攀升) every year."

Mr. Robinson went to a splendid(精美的) art shop and looked at some modern paintings. He did not understand them at all and thought that they were terrible and also very expensive.

At last he saw a small picture which did not have a price(价格) on it. It was square(方形的) and white and had a black spot(小点) in the middle and a narrow(窄的) brass(铜的) frame(框子). Mr. Robinson liked it better than any of the others in the shop.

"How much is this one?" he said to the shopkeeper(店员).

"That, sir," answered the shopkeeper, "is the electric(电) light switch(开关)."
